BUN B (Bernard James “Bun B” Freeman) is an American rapper, songwriter, producer, actor, entrepreneur, lecturer, and cultural icon best known as one-half of the legendary Southern hip-hop duo UGK (Underground Kingz), which helped define Texas rap and Southern hip-hop beginning in the late 1980s. He has released multiple acclaimed solo albums and contributed to hip-hop culture for over three decades, helping bring Southern rap to mainstream audiences and influencing generations of artists. Beyond music, Bun B is also the co-founder of Trill Burgers, a smash-burger concept that has gained national acclaim and was named “Best Burger in America” by Good Morning America. His influence also extends into community work and education, including guest lecturing at Rice University and participating in philanthropic efforts like raising funds after Hurricane Harvey and supporting voting campaigns and social justice rallies. Bun B’s national and international reach includes fashion, food, and media, blending his hip-hop authenticity with entrepreneurship and cultural leadership.
