COMEDIAN HENRY WELCH is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and former educator known for his work in comedy clubs, television, and film. He began his comedy career after attending A.H. Parker High School and Alabama State University, where he studied psychology and developed his stage skills. Welch built his reputation on clean, crowd-pleasing comedy and has performed stand-up across the United States and internationally, entertaining audiences at colleges, churches, clubs, and television events. In the early 1990s, while working as a first-grade teacher in Birmingham, Alabama, he began gaining national breaks with performances on BET’s Comic View and HBO’s Def Comedy Jam, which helped launch his career in stand-up comedy.
