EDDIE GRIFFIN (Edward Rubin “Eddie” Griffin) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, producer, and entertainer known for his energetic stage presence, sharp wit, and charismatic film roles. He first gained national attention through stand-up specials and appearances on shows like Def Comedy Jam, HBO’s One Night Stand, Voodoo Child, and Comedy Central’s "You Can Tell ’Em I Said It" — and he is ranked among Comedy Central’s 100 Greatest Stand-Up Comedians of All Time. Griffin starred in the popular sitcom "Malcolm & Eddie" (1996–2000), winning an NAACP Image Award for Best Actor and showcasing his talents as a writer and producer on the show. He’s also known for memorable film roles including the title character in Undercover Brother and parts in Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigolo, Scary Movie 3, John Q, and Norbit, helping bridge comedy with mainstream Hollywood success. Beyond acting, Eddie has maintained a longstanding stand-up career, including a Las Vegas residency and touring with major comedy ensembles, further solidifying his reach and relevance. Because of his versatility across stand-up, television, and film, his influence on both Black comedy and mainstream entertainment, and his ability to connect with audiences through humor and storytelling, Eddie Griffin is considered a national influencer in American comedy and pop culture.
