MAHMOUD ABDUL-RAUF (born Chris Wayne Jackson), is a former NBA point guard and social justice activist. He rose to prominence in the 1990's as a standout player for the Denver Nuggets, earning an NBA All-Star selection in 1993 and becoming one of the league’s most accurate free-throw shooters, leading the NBA in free-throw percentage multiple times. Known for his quick release and deep shooting range, he was one of the earliest NBA players to regularly shoot from three-point territory. Today, he is recognized as a national influencer for his courage in using sports as a platform for civil rights, religious freedom, and athlete activism.
