MS. CHRISTENE BRICE is a longtime educator and community leader from Gulfport, Mississippi who has served as the Harrison County Election Commissioner for District Four for 20 years! She was born and raised in Tupelo, MS and moved to Gulfport, MS in the 1970's. Ms. Christene Brice retired from teaching third-grade in the Harrison County School District after 30 years of service and founded Workers Helping Youth (W.H.Y.), a non-profit organization, to help children and teens. Ms. Brice is a lifetime member of the NAACP, a graduate of Mississippi Valley State, and the recipient of many awards including the Harriet Tubman Award from the Magnolia Bar Association and the Medgar & Myrlie Evers Ambassador Award. Ms. Brice has served as a mentor and role model to Dr. Keshia Gaines since the early 1990's. Ms. Christene Brice's commitment to education, civic engagement, and youth development has made her a respected figure both locally and nationally.
